Challenge from a 13 year oldI was emailed this letter the other day, and did get to wondering what are hunters doing to prevent their sport from extiction? Any one who knows, please post on the message board or email me. Because it does not seem enough to preserve the sport for future generations.

Subject: Anti-Hunters
There are many sorts of hunting. But the one I am
referring too is the one that is being outlawed in
many states and bringing unexplainable pain and agony
to those hunters that loved it. I Patrick Hanlan am
one of those hunters. I am only 13, but I know more
than most adults do about hound hunting. It just isn?t
right about how some people can take away something so
precious and lovable with just the snap of their
fingers. I would seriously love to figure out why
anti-hunters get the thrill to wreck lives of both
hunters and the precious dogs.
Most of these anti-hunters know what they are
causing. The majority of the broken hunters just
live and work in a deep sulk, or a sort of trance. But
the livelier of the bunch find the spirit deep down to
leave this state and move on to another state, with
hound hunting still available, till the anti-hunters
come and kick it out. Hunting is one of the great
adventures of life, and one of the many beauties of
the wilderness.
I have been hunting since I was eight and shot my
first bear when I was nine. That was one of the best
days of my life, I still love to think about it. Since
then my life was dedicated to hound hunting, but a
month later it got voted out and I was left in misery
for about a year, but then we started driving 100
miles over to Idaho, just to go hunting for a few
hours. It was worth it to again relive the hunt, and
get the same thrill every time.
I am sure that if you took the time to read this that
you probably have heard or experienced these tragedies
before. Well I as a hunter ask you to help ourselves
in the fight to stop these anti-hunters from taking
over the hunting world.
