My wife and I have lived on Long Island for 25 years. We moved down to Myrtle beach, SC and decided to get a dog at the pound. We fell in love with Shilo, so we got her. We both thought we got a mut, until our friend who grew up in Tennesse came over and saw Shilo, and said "That is a Redbone Coonhound". My wife and I at the same time yelled, "A What!?!" Our friend told us a whole history about the dog and both of us were in shoke that we actually got ourselves a awsome dog. As you all can see it gets along great with the cat Simba. Not in all my life in the fast life of Long Island have I ever hear of a Redbone Coonhound until now. Its a fun and a very smart dog. I have still not seen another Redbone still other then ours in Myrtle Beach, they must be very rare.
